DAVIDSON COUNTY -- A day of fishing turned to tragedy for a father and son fishing on High Rock Lake. North Carolina Wildlife officers said the father and his teenage son, along with a 10-year-old boy, were fishing in the Tucker Town Reservoir near High Rock Dam when the teenager dropped his fishing pole into the lake. The teen fell in when he leaned over to retrieve it, and his father jumped in to try to save him. “We heard shouts for help,” said Sgt. Anthony Sharum, who was patrolling the lakeshore on foot with another wildlife officer.
